Garam Masala is a popular spice blend used in Northern Indian cooking. It is the flavour base for many tantalizing curries, vegetable side dishes, and roasted meats.
Use this recipe as a guide. I have included quantities for reference, but once you get comfortable, you won't have to measure any more. I usually use my palm as a measuring tool, haha.
Feel free to add more spices, or take away some spices to create a blend that is unique to you and your family's tastes :)

INGREDIENTS
2 tbsp Cumin Seeds
2 tbsp Coriander Seeds
2 tsp Black Peppercorns
1 Star Anise Pod
1/4 of a whole Nutmeg
10 Cardamom Pods
10 Black Cloves
1 Stick Cinnamon
Combine all ingredients and blitz in a Spice Grinder until finely ground. Store in a resealable plastic bag/air-tight container in the fridge or freezer
