The number of new coronavirus infections in South Africa increased by 2-thousand-364 in the last 24-hour cycle. This takes up the total number of cases in the country to 680-thousand-986. The number of active cases has ticked up to 51-thousand-and-70. The national health department also reports that 126 new deaths were recorded since the release of the last report. This takes up the national Covid-19 death toll to 17-thousand-673.
Over four million tests have been conducted in the country thus far - 28-thousand-and-66 of those were conducted in the last 24 hours.
The national coronavirus recovery rate is 90 percent - with 622-thousand-153 recoveries.
