About this video: Camels are now in Minecraft 1.20! Here’s what you need to know about them.

First, let’s go over where camels spawn. You will find them in the center of desert villages originally, but after they spawn, they will move around.

As far as riding camels, you don’t need to tame them to ride them. Once you are riding a camel, open your inventory to be able to place a saddle on the camel. When you do, two players can ride on the camel at the same time making it a super unique ridable mob for this reason a lot.

If a camel takes damage, it can be healed by feeding it cactus. You can also use a cacti to heal a camel if it takes damage, you can heal it using cacti as well.

As far as traveling with a camel, it can step up 1.5 block tall walls automatically meaning it travels directly over walls and fences as well as blocks with a slab on top. Camels can also travel through water that is up to 3 blocks deep without any issues allowing you go through deeper water than you can with horses. This can make traversing with a cable super easy.

We should also mention camel's special ability - dashing. This can be triggered with the jump button, and it launches you forward up to 12 blocks when used. I think this is a great idea for a special ability as the camel’s biggest limitation is its speed.

Lastly, camels are the tallest ridable entity in the game, meaning that zombies cannot reach you to attack. They will come and try to attack you, but they won’t be able to do so. They also won’t attack the camel meaning you and your camel are both completely safe.
