Welcome to the 4th episode! In this chapter, Shantanu marries Satyavati and is blessed with two sons—Chitrangada and Vichitravirya. As time passes, Shantanu’s health begins to decline, and he eventually passes away peacefully in the palace. Bhishma, ever dutiful, takes on the responsibility of training his younger brothers, preparing them to rule the kingdom. Chitrangada grows into a formidable warrior, leading the Kaurava army to many victories. However, driven by pride, he accepts a duel with a Gandharva and tragically dies at a young age. The throne then passes to Vichitravirya, who, unlike his brother, lacks the same strength and capability. Bhishma arranges Vichitravirya's marriage to Ambika and Ambalika, but he never experiences the joy of fatherhood. Struggling with illness for many years, Vichitravirya also passes away, leaving Hastinapura without a king. Bhishma, unwavering in his duty, swears to protect the throne until his dying breath.
