Car Shakes When Accelerating (Causes And Solutions). In this video tutorial I will show you how to fix car shakes when accelerating.
Here is what causes it and how to fix the issue;
Loose lug nuts
If the wheel's lug nuts were not torqued down properly on the hub and then loosened with time, the wheel may develop a wobble to it. In return, the car may have a shaky feel when driving. If you fail to tighten the loose nuts, the wheel may eventually end up falling off as you drive. Using a torque wrench, ensure all the lug nuts are tightened properly.
An issue with the spark plugs
Spark plugs ignite the fuel/air mixture in your car's engine. They may become fouled or wear out over time, causing inefficient firing. This leads to misfires when your car is accelerating, causing vibrations. To fix this, replace the old spark plugs.
A bad CV joint
Then CV joint connects the main axle to the tire and allows your car tire to rotate at an angle whenever you turn. If this joint is bad, your car may shake when you turn and accelerate. If you check and find that your CV joint is cracked, you may need to replace the entire assembly.
Uneven tires
In case you had your tires recently replaced then you start noticing that your car is shaking as you accelerate, then this means your new tires may be unbalanced. Visit a tire shop and get your tires replaced or balanced.
Stuck brake calipers
If the brake calipers fail to release correctly, friction may occur on your wheels. This continuous drag leads to noticeable shaking and affects your car's acceleration. You can fix this problem by removing, cleaning, and lubricating sticky brake calipers. You can also replace any failed caliper or take it to a trusted car center for repair.
