Title: Jobs Working With Dogs
(00:49) If you're a dog lover then there's no better way to pay the bills than to get a job working with dogs.
In fact, many dog lovers have turned their passion into a dog training career by becoming a dog trainer.
There is definitely a need for more professional dog trainers.
So, let’s talk about how to become a dog trainer...
Dog Training knowledge is a vital part to becoming a dog trainer so in this video I'm going to answer a very common dog training question I'm regularly asked which is:
"How do I stop my dog from getting so excited and barking at feeding time?"
I remember one dog who was very demanding at feeding time. The dog would bark and was hyperactive when the owner walked near to the cupboard where his food was kept.
So this is what we did…
We went to the kitchen and the moment the dog started to show excitable behaviour we ignored the performance and calmly sat down in the lounge.
The dog’s face was a picture of bewilderment!
We waited until he settled and walked towards the kitchen again. The moment he started to show excitable behaviour we calmly walked back into the lounge.
The non-verbal message we communicated was when he became over excited he didn't get fed.
He quickly caught on and realized that he needed to be calm before he received food.
Shortly after my visit the owner reported that he was happy but calm when it was feeding time.
