Cisumdawu toll road:
1. Connecting the three centers of economic growth in the northern part of West Java
This toll road supports the operations of Kertajati Airport, Patimban Port, as well as the economic development of the Ciayu Majakuning and West Java Rebana areas.
2. Shorten the travel time from Bandung to Kertajati Airport
The Cisumdawu Toll Road will shorten the distance from Bandung to Kartajati Airport in Majalengka which initially has a travel distance of around 3.5 hours and is ranked up to 45 minutes to an hour on the Cisumdawu Toll Road.
3. There are two longest twin tunnels
The Cisumdawu Toll Road has two twin structures that are 472 meters long and 15 meters wide. The tunnel was built by a contractor from China, Metallurgy Corporation of China (MCC).
The tunnel is also built on land prone to landslides so the New Austrian Tunnelimg Method (NATM) technology is used, which allows deformation of the rock mass before stabilizing the tunnel thereby reducing the amount of additional support material.
4. Consists of 6 sections
Section 1 Cileunyi-Rancakalong is 11.45 km long
Section 2 of Rancakalong-Sumedang with a length of 17.05 km is carried out by the Government as part of the viability gap fund (VGF) to increase the feasibility of the toll road investment.
Currently, the overall progress of section 1 is 94.55%, while the progress of section 2 is 95.80%.
Sections 3-6 are carried out by the Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT), namely PT. Citra Karya West Java Toll Road (CKJT).
For Section 3 from Sumedang to Cimalaka along 4.05 km construction has been completed 100%.
Section 4 Cimalaka - Legok along 8.20 km has 6.59% construction
section 5 Legok - Ujungjaya along 14.9 km construction progress is 20.65%
Section 6 Ujung Jaya-Dawuan construction progress has reached 63.29%.
5. Handling of 136 meters high slope
Some alternatives are excavation or regrading, strengthening slopes, pits with a pump system, and adding land to make the slopes more gentle. Through these 4 methods, slope management is targeted to be completed in December 2021.
5. Funded by Chinese loans and BUJT
The Cisumdawu toll road funding uses several sources, such as from the Chinese government which is part of the viability gap fund (VGF) and also the investment of the PT Citra Karya Jabar Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT).
State budget funds and loans from the Chinese government, were used for the construction of sections I and section II with a total of Rp 6.6 trillion. Meanwhile, sections III to VI are financed by BUJT with an investment of Rp 8.1 trillion.
6. It is planned to be inaugurated in December 2021
"After seeing the conditions in the field, I am optimistic that the Cisumdawu Toll Road will be able to start being used in 2022. Through this toll road, the journey from Bandung to Kertajati can later be taken in 1 hour.
