Katmai National Park in Alaska is home to the densest population of brown bears on the planet and is one of the only places where these usually territorial creatures peacefully hunt side-by-side.
Visiting Katmai National Park was at the top of our Alaska bucket list, but there were definitely challenges along the way, including confusing logistics, canceled boat rides, and 50 mile per hour winds. Join us as we experience one of the most remote places in Alaska, from seeing the famed bears of Brooks Falls and exploring the site of the largest volcanic eruption of the 20th century to testing out how waterproof our tent is and finding out why so many people keep coming back to Katmai year after year.
