False positive pregnancy tests do happen although they are very very rare. And if one does occur there a few different explanations. The number one reason why a woman might get a false positive test is just operator error. It is either read incorrectly or it had something to do with the home pregnancy test.
So this does happen, but if that is not the cause there are a few other explanations. For example, a woman may have gotten pregnant, but may have miscarried about the same time she took the test, so HCG levels were starting to climb, but they are already on their way down.
Other explanations can include HCG treatment for infertility and in some cases, although it is very rare, a tumor. So if you get a false positive pregnancy test your doctor would work with you and first determine whether or not you are truly pregnant and if you are not and you are still getting positive tests they will look into why you have elevated HCG levels.
Good luck with everything and if you have any other questions in the future for me feel free to ask them on our Facebook page at [ Ссылка ] and recommend us to your friends and family too.
