Ingredients
For the Beef Patties
2 lbs ground beef
1 tbsp onion powder
1 tbsp garlic powder
½ tsp salt
½ tsp pepper
3 tbsp milk
2 tbsp worcestershire sauce
1 cup bread crumbs
1 large egg
2 tbsp cooking oil for frying
For the Mushroom Gravy
4 tbsp butter
4 tbsp all-purpose flour
2 cups beef broth
8 oz sliced mushrooms (1 can)
Instructions
Beef Patties
1. Combine the ground beef, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, milk, Worcestershire sauce, breadcrumbs, and egg in a large mixing bowl. Mix until well blended.
2. Shape the mixture into oval patties, about an inch thick, similar to Jollibee's style.
3. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
4. Fry the patties for about 4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
5. Once cooked, place the patties on paper towels to drain the excess oil.
Mushroom Gravy
1. In a separate skillet, melt butter and gradually stir in flour to create a roux (a mixture of fat and flour used for thickening sauces).
2. Slowly add beef broth while continuously stirring to avoid lumps.
3. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat once the gravy starts to thicken.
Assemble Jollibee-Style Burger Steak
1. Place the crispy beef patty on top of steaming white rice, and generously smother it with the creamy mushroom gravy.
