50 Best Stand-Up Comics of 2017, Cho is known for her groundbreaking one-woman show, I’m The One That I Want, which was made into both a best-selling book and feature film. Cho was born in San Francisco in 1968 to Korean parents. In her twenties, she moved to Los Angeles after winning a comedy contest to open for Jerry Seinfeld. Cho was the recipient of the first-ever Best Comedy Performance Award at the Asian Excellence Awards, First Amendment Award from the ACLU of Southern California, Intrepid Award from the National Organization for Women, and Los Angeles Pride Lifetime Achievement Award for her lasting positive impact on the LGBTQ community.
