(#35 in "Open Tuning Songs" series) In this “Open Tuning Songs” series I have been trying to focus on “great songs” that can be enhanced by playing them in Open Guitar Tunings. With this video, I decided to take on a classic rock song, Styx’ “ Fooling Yourself: (The Angry Young Man) . This is a little out of my wheelhouse. I normally have taken on ballads, usually utilizing my finger picking style. For this one I went all out rock strumming ( a la Pete Townsend :) , but in my own unique way using finger and thumb picks to get more of a syncopated rhythm. I played this one in Open D tuning on my 2018 Martin D-28 12 String…which is sounding better every year. :). Enjoy, Thomas
