In this episode of our Fifty States Tour, we woke up in Birmingham Alabama and headed towards Montgomery where we toured the National Peace and Justice Memorial. We would have loved to share that experience with you but our camera was taken away by the security guard as you are not allowed to have cameras on the premises. We'll always have it in our memories though!
After leaving Montgomery, we hit the road for Mobile, Alabama where we pulled into Battleship Memorial Park to tour the USS Drum and USS Alabama. Of course we found out shortly that Battleship Memorial Park has a lot more to offer than just these two tours. We could have easily spent the entire day here- maybe even a couple days! We enjoyed our tour so much and we highly recommend visiting.
After leaving Battleship Memorial Park, we left Mobile Alabama and headed down towards Florida because there were not any free camp grounds near the USS Alabama. We found a place near Rattlesnake Lake and drifted off to sleep despite the slight fear of rattlesnakes nearby.
The next morning we woke up with the sun and headed back into Alabama. There was one more stop we had to make before returning home: Bamahenge. This partial Stonehenge replica is located off the beaten path of any tourist spot but is highly recommended to see at least once in your life (by us). Once we finished up shooting at Bamahenge, we hit the highway toward the next state- see you in Mississippi!
