Treasurer Jim Chalmers says Western Australia is set to receive $8 billion over 10 years through the AUKUS deal creating thousands of jobs in the state.
“This is the biggest industrial undertaking in Australia’s history and Western Australia is absolutely front and centre,” he said during a media conference on Tuesday.
“It’s a game-changing investment in our economy and in the state of WA.
“This AUKUS announcement means today is an $8 billion investment over the decades in the future of Western Australia, its workers, its industries and its economy which will create around 3,000 jobs plus another 500 or so when it comes to South West Tafe”.
