A visit to a wild and windy Patagonia in the south of Argentina in October 2014 gave some really interesting sequences of the famous "La Trochita" or Old Patagonian Express.
This is a 750mm (2'6") gauge line which runs between the towns of Esquel and El Maiten, in the foothills of the Andes Mountains.
The railway is fascinating but the scenery is spectacular.
The line has a mix of 2-8-2 locomotives built by Henschel and Baldwin.
This sequence shows the interior of the depot at Esquel and features Baldwin 16 and Henschels 107 and 114.
A short tourist service still operates today.
Recorded in October 2014.
