Points to be aware of when coming to CV
Membership
* An annual membership fee of £10 must be paid on your first visit to the lake (regardless of when this is in the season). This is for annual administration, 2022 sticker (or membership card), insurance and new for 2022, a car parking pass if required. Everyone must pay this fee, including children.
Parking.
* Fill the car parks starting with the closest to the gate. We will provide you with a parking sticker when you pay your annual membership fee.
Changing.
* There are no specific changing facilities so please come with a swimming costume on. You can put your wetsuit on by the lake. No nudity please (in the car parks or by the lake).
* Swimming hats are compulsory and must be brightly coloured to aid visibility. No silver, white or dark colours (silver and white are hard to see in the glare on the water). We do sell bright green silicone hats for £6
Wetsuits
* Wetsuits are optional for adults but you MUST use a tow-float of you are swimming without a wetsuit. This is for safety and visibility. Tow floats are available to hire for £2 a session or you can buy a super bright Do3 dry-bag tow float for £22. All children must wear a wetsuit.
Water temperature
* The water temperature will be displayed on reception when you register your arrival.
* We will advise you when the water is excessively cold or warm. Too warm and we’ll advise about the potential for over-heating in a wetsuit, too cold and we’ll need to keep a super close eye on you and you’ll need to reduce your swim time down.
* Those swimming skins below a certain temperature should be experienced cold water swimmers and must demonstrate good understanding of symptoms of cold water shock, hypothermia, after drop etc
Children.
* Children under 10 can swim at the discretion of Do3, please email enquiries@do3.co.uk before the swim session
* Children between the ages of 10 and 12 can swim provided they pass our competency test and are accompanied in the water with a parent or legal guardian.
* Children who are 13 years old and above can swim provided they pass our competency test and have a parent or legal guardian present who may be required to swim with them.
* Children must be supervised at all times when on site. Children can not be left unsupervised while parents or guardians swim.
* ALL children must wear a wetsuit and have a tow float. Tow floats can be hired free of charge for use by children.
* And finally, an adult can only swim with one child
