Earlier this year, 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair, in collaboration with Christie's, were delighted to hold an insightful and unique panel titled, 'Where do we go from here?
To kick-start 1-54's 10th edition celebration, this talk reflected on the past years of 1-54 and featured the voices of curators, gallerists, and artists who have grown alongside the fair and who are long-term partners. This talk set out to question the future and new opportunities of the global, economic, and social contexts of the Contemporary African Art Market in 2022. The panellists for the evening were art historian and curator, Christine Eyene, Tiwani galleries artist, Joy Labinjo, cultural strategist, patron and
academic, Princess Alia Al-Senussi, co-founder of Addis Fine Art, Mesai Haileleul, and founding director of 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair, Touria El Glaoui; moderated by Artnet Journalist, Amah-Rose Abrams.
