For 2018, M1-Sporttechnik has expanded their line of high-power, high-speed electric bikes and added a brand new one that uses the Brose drive system and is more limited at 20 mph or 28 mph for Class 1 and Class 3 e-bike applications.
M1 Currently offers a 250 watt, 500 watt, or 850 watt motor option with up to 120 Newton meters of peak torque on the TQ German motor system and up to 880 watt hour battery packck for different applications (including off-road racing). All of that power and performance (including a Carbon fiber frame) doesn’t come cheap. Their electric bikes start at 6,000€ to 8,500€ but some of the models come with Carbon fiber rims and other high-performance hardware which can be priced up to 16,000€.
Apparently, in Germany, M1-Sporttechnik is an authorized vehicle manufacturer and they sell their electric bikes with a license number plate and Certificate of Conformity (COC) so you can register it like a car and ride it around on the streets at high speed (like a motorcycle). The new ZELL model starts at $4,799€ and can be purchased with a 250 watt or 500 watt Brose motor to be used as a standard Class 1 or a Class 3 model. It’s their most affordable electric bike to date but still comes in an all-carbon frame.
