Filipino rice cakes(kakanin) play a big part in every Filipino's lives. A party in my country isn't complete without rice cakes. Filipinos believe that having a rice cake on an occasion can make every member of the family closer to each other because of the sticky rice used.
Since rice is a staple food for the Filipinos, a lot of rice cake varieties can be found on every occasion, on every home and on every island in my country. The most prominent rice cakes are biko, puto, sapin sapin, suman, palitaw, bibingka, puto bumbong and a lot more.
