The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) confirmed the presence of a Russian submarine, identified as UFA 490 some 80 nautical miles west of Cape Calavite, Occidental Mindoro in the vicinity of the West Philippine Sea on November 28, 2024.
The AFP ensures the security of Philippine waters as Philippine Navy (PN) assets were deployed to monitor the vessel's activities.
