Sustainability involves finding a balance between environmental conservation and human development and requires a multi disciplinary approach which Temple Carrig Secondary School in Greystones wants mirror by bringing different subjects together. Experts from environmental science, economics, sociology, science, geography and ethics need to collaborate to ensure solutions meet both ecological and human needs.

In 2nd year we have an opportunity with the CBAs ( Classroom based assessments ) to do a cross curricular CBA between Science, Geography and Maths. Although we are hoping to encourage the students taking part in the pilot to choose a topic related to sustainability and the environment, they will have free rein to choose their investigation and focus and will be guided by myself, Geography, Science and Maths departments.
