While in Jakarta, a fellow American friend I met traveling and I decided to purchase bicycles and ride over 1,000 km across the island of Java to the world renowned tropical destination, Bali. With no cycling experience and no physical training, we plan to share our experiences along this eye-opening journey. We plan to travel off the beaten path to discover what many who visit Indonesia do not dare to experience - true Indonesian culture, traditional foods cooked by Javanese locals, and see places Google photos do not show you.
