Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu began his day-long hunger strike in Amaravati on his Birthday to demand special status for the state. The Dharma Porata Deeksha (Struggle for Justice) against the injustice meted out to the state by the NDA government at the Centre started at 7 am and will end at 7 pm. Apart from the chief minister, all his cabinet colleagues, MPs, MLAs and MLCs and other party functionaries would take part in the fasting.
