After some off road we arrived at Akna lake at 9:30, from where we started our journey to Azhdahak mountain.
Despite the fact that it is summer, a lot of snow there, as on 3000m + even on July you need some warm clothes to feel comfortable.
We passed between Eastern and Western Aghusar and a small lake was there welcoming us! Views are breathtaking! Then the greenery starts and a long walk on the smooth surface in front of Azhdahak. There is even a mountain called Dimac Ler (Front Mountain) because it stands in front of Azhdahak.
At some point we started going up the mountain, it wasn't easy, but also wasn't too hard to complain.
If you are lucky, summit of this mountain will open half of Armenia for you! Sevan lake, most of the Geghama mountains (Spitakasar, Aghusar, eg.) were visible. There was thunderstorm coming so we didn't have much time to visit the lake on the summit, but on late summer and good weather there is a good chance to swim there as well. On the back way we experienced some showers and thunderstorms, but were safely back!
This journey was one of the greatest and longest runs I ever made, despite the fact the relative elevation wasn't too high.
Greetings and many thanks to Vahram Davoyan for this adventure!
