Thousands of Ukrainians have taken to the streets of the seized city of Melitopol to protest the alleged abduction of its mayor by Russian forces.
According to the Ukrainian parliament, armed men working for the Kremlin seized Ivan Fedorov.
In response to reports of his kidnapping, at least 2,000 people have flocked to the city's streets to protest.
As reported by Kirill Timoshenko on Telegram, Ukraine's deputy president's office published a video purporting to show the moment Mr. Fedorov was apprehended and led across a city center plaza.
Ukraine's southern city of Melitopol, which is located around 120 miles west of Mariupol, was taken over by Russian forces on February 26.
Mrs. Fedorov had previously tweeted, "staying in the besieged city to provide fundamental requirements of inhabitants.".
The kidnappers, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, are on a par with the so-called Islamic State terrorist organization.
