Cleveland weather forecast for Wednesday, December 11, 2024.
Get ready for a hit of cold air, Northeast Ohio. Snow will also make a return to our forecast this morning as well as later this evening as an arctic front plows through the Great Lakes.
Morning snow will move from west to east through northern Ohio in response to a large storm system along the east coast. We could get some good bursts of wet snowflakes this morning before conditions turn rather quiet for much of the day. Temps will slowly be sliding through the 30s throughout the day.
An arctic front arrives late this evening with a few bursts of snow. You'll also notice gusty winds and a temp drop that will take us from the 30s into the 10s overnight. Wind chill values will be near 0 for that Thursday morning rush hour -- keep that in mind for the kids at the bus stop, too!
Lake-effect snow will develop and target areas of northern Ashtabula and Lake counties where upwards of a half foot of snow could fall along and north of I-90. Travel gets even trickier as you head toward Erie. Elsewhere, a few snow showers may make it into northern Geauga and central Ashtabula County but we're not expecting much snow for those locations -- an inch or two at best. Outside of the snowbelt we'll enjoy sunshine but it will be bone-chilling cold with highs struggling to get out of the upper 10s Thursday.
We'll warm up a bit for the weekend with rain returning Saturday night into the day Sunday.

TODAY: Early snow showers give way to quiet weather. Bursts of snow return late evening. Temps steady or slowly falling through the 30s.
THURSDAY: Frigid with lake-effect snow mainly east of Cleveland along and north of I-90. Near 20 with wind chill values near 0.
FRIDAY: Drier with some breaks in the clouds. Few flurries east. Cold. Near 30.
