Police smashed a drug trafficking ring with the arrest of four pushers, including a couple in three separate raids under 'Ops Tapis' yesterday.
Kulim police chief Superintendent Sazalee Adam said police also seized 350g of heroin and 48g of syabu with a street value about RM24,000 during the arrests.
He told a press conference at the district police headquarters today.
The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act which carries the mandatory death penalty upon conviction.
Meanwhile, Sazalee said in total, Kulim police rounded up 53 people aged between 19 and 50-years-old for various drugs-related offences throughout the four-day 'Ops Tapis' operation which began on Saturday.
