This is a short video on how to make traditional German cheesecake without a base.
Here are the ingredients:
16 oz cream cheese
15 oz ricotta cheese
8 oz sour cream
4 eggs
1 pkg of vanilla pudding powder
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk
2 tsp vanilla extract
Directions:
separate the eggs into whites and yokes and beat whites stiff.
In a separate bowl combine yokes and all other ingredients. Mix until well blended.
Now fold the egg white stiff into the dough with a spoon.
Pour into springform and bake at 360 F for 1 hr.
Turn off oven, but leave the cake in the oven to cool slowly for about 15 min, then let the cake cool off completely on your countertop. Now the cake must be refrigerated for at least three hours, preferably overnight. Do not remove your springform until the cake has been in the fridge for at least 3 hours.
