Beck Dorey-Stein grew up in Narberth, Pennsylvania, and taught high school English for three years before serving as a White House stenographer from 2012 to 2017. Her first book, From the Corner of the Oval, was a New York Times bestseller. She now lives on the coast of Maine.
Beck will be joined in conversation with Jennifer Close, the bestselling author of Girls in White Dresses, The Smart One, and The Hopefuls. Born and raised on the North Shore in Chicago, she is a graduate of Boston College and received her MFA in fiction writing from The New School in 2005. She worked in New York in magazines for many years. She now lives in Washington, D.C. and teaches creative writing at George Washington University.
