Frequent urination can be due to large fluid intake, because the more we drink, the more we pee. It can also be due to a urinary tract infection where you feel like you have to go a lot but then you sit down to go and not much comes out, so that might mean frequent visits to the toilet, but not necessarily much is coming out. Diabetes can also cause frequent urination and a lot of urine output. So if you notice that either you or your child are having these symptoms, then I suggest talking with the doctor and getting checked out. They’ll ask you more specific questions and then determine if further investigation is warranted. Now in your specific circumstance, you mentioned that you took your son to the ER who is urinating frequently - like 22 times in 24 hours, and they ruled out a urinary tract infection and diabetes, so I suggest following up with his pediatrician and they can kind of look at the overall picture and determine if further investigation is warranted for this issue. Good luck with everything and if you have more questions in the future for me, feel free to ask them on our Facebook page at facebook.com/IntermountainMoms and recommend us to your friends and family too.
