Samson Khachatryan, MD, PhD, National Institute of Health of Armenia, Yerevan, Armenia, discusses the relationship between sleep disorders and epilepsy. Sleep plays a significant role in epilepsy, and understanding how primary sleep disorders affect epilepsy can be crucial. Additionally, the management of primary sleep disorders such as restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy can improve the course of epilepsy. Dr Khachatryan also mentions the prevalence of sleep apnea among epilepsy patients and how managing this condition can reduce sleep disturbance and improve patients’ overall well-being. This interview took place at the European Academy of Neurology (EAN) 2023 Congress in Budapest, Hungary.
