Giants don't usually do much for me in a fantasy setting- they're just big mishappen humans for the most part. At least mix it up a little bit! This was one of the few pluses for the old plastic GW kit- at least you could mutate him up a bit and there were a variety of parts to use, making him quite a versatile model across a variety of armies (and games for that matter).
Para Bellum's Mountain Jotnar continues that tradition. For starters he's big and hefty with quite large pieces to glue together. There's a fair bit of optional kit included and is something always appreciated. I will tsk tsk at them for only giving us the tree branch weapon option, which is further aggravated by how the tree is already attached to the hands (making for some troublesome conversion work). That's a minor quibble in the big picture though.
I find it to be a nice sized kit compared to the current giants on the market. Not nearly as thinly proportioned as the GW Aleguzzlers, and nowhere near the heights of the Mantic models, it'll be interesting to see where he stands whenever the Sons of Behemat bother to turn up on the market.
