(26 Mar 2018) Some Wisconsin students hope to keep the momentum going from recent student marches demanding gun reform.
The "50 Miles More" marchers left Madison Sunday and will arrive at Janesville's Traxler Park for a rally against gun violence Wednesday at noon.
They hope to get the attention of U.S. House Speaker Paul Ryan, as Janesville is his hometown.
Violet Kilmurray is a student from Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
She says she wasn't sure if she was going to participate and then her school got the second shooting threat in four months last week and that sealed her decision to march.
The students are pushing for a ban on military style weapons, a ban on accessories to turn semi-automatic weapons into automatic weapons, a four day waiting period on all gun purchases, background checks on all gun sales and raising the legal purchasing age on guns to 21.
They chanted things like "Hey, Hey NRA How many kids did you kill today?" and carried signs like "Protect kids, not guns."
