Folk, Pop und Singer/Songwriter-Soul with Afro-Approach – With her first album "Babyblues" (2012) Y'akoto charted Top 20 in Germany. With her dark, expressive voice she’s been compared to jazz icons such as Nina Simone and Billie Holiday. Now, the sea-subject inspires a new collection of songs that, besides soul, carry with them a lot of salt and sensuality: “Mermaid Blues” is the title of Y’akoto’s new, third album.
