The non-apology apology can really make you feel crazy. It sounds ever so close to an apology but it’s far from it and can leave you wondering why you don’t feel better or why nothing changes afterwards. Just because the words “I’m sorry” come out of someone’s mouth doesn’t mean that the person saying them actually is.

The way the world frequently invalidates us, whether intentionally or not, is so prevalent, so accepted, so insidious that we struggle to untangle ourselves from it to make the changes we want. Or we can’t even know what changes we want.
