Disturbing Events Unfolding in a Fast Food Restaurant | Compliance Movie Explained
The film is based on real events and tells the story of a fast food restaurant manager named Sandra who accepts a delivery of goods after some products in the refrigerator went bad due to an employee forgetting to close the door. The restaurant is preparing for a busy Friday shift, and Sandra wants her employees to be attentive and follow the recipes and portion sizes. However, the day takes a dark turn when an unknown person calls the restaurant claiming that one of the checkout employees stole money from a customer. Sandra is persuaded by a police officer on the phone to help with the investigation, and the situation escalates as the officer requests invasive searches of the employee and coercive actions are taken. Eventually, it's revealed that the call was a prank and the real police officers arrive to investigate the incident. Becky, the employee who was targeted, plans to sue the restaurant. Sandra considers herself a victim as well and denies any wrongdoing.
