DIY Concrete
To make one Yard or 27 Cubic Feet of Concrete you need:
6 bags of Portland Cement
72 Heaping Shovels of Sand
108 Heaping Shovels of Aggregate
30 Gallons of Water.
To mix one bag of Portland measuring 1/6 a Yard of 4.5 Cubic Feet of Concrete you need:
12 Heaping Shovels of Sand
18 Heaping Shovels of Aggregate
5 gallons of water
.75 Cubic Feet of Concrete Use:
1 Heaping Shovel of Cement
2 Heaping Shovels of Sand
3 Heaping Shovels of Aggregate
Slightly less than one Gallon of Water.
Water needs to be adjusted based on the moisture content of your Sand and Aggregate. If your Mix is too Dry just add a little Water. If you overdid it with the water, Simply add a little more sand and Portland. It is best to measure your Water in a Pail So you don't have to keep adjusting with each batch.
