Well here's a view of Barton Road Centre you don't see everyday!
It's funny to think that until the 1920's there were very few houses surrounding our centre and it was actually in use as farm buildings! Barton Road Centre is older than you think and actually appears on maps going back as far as the 1700's.
But what are your stories of Barton Road Centre? Do you have any connections with or photos of people that worked there when it was a farm? know anyone who stirred the custard in those big vats when it was a school kitchen in the 50's, 60's and 70's? Or maybe you were one of the first young people to join the Junior Youth Group when it became a Youth and Community Centre in the late 1980's? If so, get in touch.
