Iftar Buffet at Palmshore:

It’s been eons since I last went to a proper “Iftaar” event. At home, it’s only my Ammi who fasts. I’m a believer of good deeds and that’s my stand in life. Well, enough about me… but the reason why I started off by writing what I wrote earlier is that I think I did myself good by choosing to go Palmshore’s Iftar Buffet. The experience was ditto to what if you were invited by someone to an Iftar party. Except for the fact that here it comes with a cost.

The new outlet of Palmshore at Anna Nagar has a premium ambience. Also, maybe because they are brand new (opened in February) everything looks and feels premium. I walked in at around 6.00 PM to find the tables set with Dates, Cut Fruits, Watermelon Juice, Mohabbat Ka Sherbet and Water for people to breakfast with. Then appeared the Malabar Snacks & Nonbu Kanji when it was time to break the fast with. There’s a prayer hall attached to the restaurant for believers to pray right after breaking the fast.

The feast that follows after breaking the fast is unlimited and a buffet service. There was a live Appam counter. There was almost 35 dishes in the buffet counter including Salads & Dessert. But, I saw people were racing only for the Biryani counter more. Well, this obsession for Biryani and Chennai is magical.

The service was impeccable. Mind you, it’s not easy to handle a floor full of overflowing people. The service team was spot on with clearing dishes and bringing items that are served on table, promptly like Mango Falooda, Elaneer Payasam etc and also checking if we needed repeat of any dishes.
