This paper shows that in mouse macrophage cells which have been treated with LPS to induce inflammation, NMN can reduce the inflammatory response by interrupting the COX-2 pathway in the same way that NSAIDS such as aspirin and ibuprofen do. This reduces chronic inflammation and offers the possibility that NMN can be used instead of NSAIDs to treat chronic inflammation.
