Here's the one thing that you need to remember about using this Hobie Livewell. When you get in your kayak and you start pedaling away you turn the switch on. You must start pedaling fast and what will happen is the water will force itself through the intake hose on the underside of your kayak. With the pump turned on and you are now peddling fast this will automatically prime the Hobie Livewell when you hear the water running in, you know the Livewell has been primed and you are good to go. I have used this Hobie Livewell and battery all day long and it's still running. I have used it for periods of 8 to 10 hours.
