Mt. Baker Ski Area is one of the most legendary mountains in the ski & snowboard world. It's located in Washington, USA and has managed to hold on to the old-school vibe and charm that almost every other ski resort is lacking these days. It's home to some of the world's best snowboarders and has some of the wildest natural terrain and bckcountry riding I've ever laid eyes on. Baker is well known for being the snow captial of America. It might not be the lightest and driest pow, but they get a boatload of snow. In 1998-99 season they set a world record for the most snowfall 1,140 inches.
Today I finally ventured South into America to experience the legendary Mt. Baker snow and terrain for myself. Although it was wet, I think it was the perfect spot to dip my toes into the world of skiing in the USA.
Huge shoutout to the awesome locals who generously skied me around and made sure I didn't get into too much trouble during my first visit. I'm already dreaming of coming back on a much colder pow day to get the full Baker experience. There are so many sick lines and backcountry zones to unlock here.
