The innate human reaction to new changes that repel away from conformity are in most cases: always negative. So, how does the application of machinery diminish or enhance the voice of an artist, and how can we finally show appreciation for it? When photography was introduced in the 1820's, critics everywhere called it the "cheapening of art..."
