From the snow-covered Dolomites to the turquoise blue of the Mediterranean, the spectacular landscape of Italy is already a favorite for many. Winter in northern Italy: ice and snow rule over the Dolomites for months on end – only specialists like the Ibex can live up here in the high mountains. Hardly any other animal can climb so efficiently and scale steep slopes so elegantly. Even Ibex, however, descend to lower regions when the ice and snow pile up – the risk of falling is simply too high in winter.
