Technology is changing the way we learn, but Associate Professor Michael Kasumovic argues that it currently focuses too much on individual learners. In his talk, Michael uses an evolutionary perspective to explain the importance of storytelling and experience in learning science. He argues that for technology to truly improve education, it needs to incorporate social interactions and discovery in the learning process. This way, students are excited about science as they themselves become the scientists.
Michael is an Associate Professor at UNSW Sydney. An award winning evolutionary biologist and science communicator, Michael explores the role the social environment has on how individuals develop and behave. He now uses what he's learned to create video games that help teachers and students around the world easily perform science experiments to learn more about the world around them. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at [ Ссылка ]
