I could see that she embodied innocence and charm
But I had heard that wives and mother's meant to do her harm

And in the instant that I met her I was put at ease
She took my hand and squeezed it there with every bit of class

Three days went by and still I hadn't seen a hide no hair
So went back to that ol' pub to see if they had seen her there
They told me that that girl named Molly always came and went
And disagreed when I had said that she was heaven sent.

Then they said something about communicable and something about disease

A sweeter girl has never had a chance to play the part
And I'll marry that girl someday if ever there's the chance
For now I'll start attending to the itching in my pants
