Gameplay of the Mortal Kombat character Raiden in revision version 2 of Midway's NBA Jam Tournament Edition.

The last Mortal Kombat character to cover, Raiden is surprisingly good. He seems more adept at stealing the ball than the other MK characters, and in particular his slam dunks are always on point. I didn't think it was possible to get too far in this game without using a character who specialised in three-pointers, but I was wrong. As Raiden I manage to gain a great lead over my opponent just due to my increased skill from playing the game, and even end up "on fire", a status which you get after three consecutive slam dunks, which sees any consecutive dunks you get after that setting the net on fire, or even breaking the glass of the basketball net proper. It's a great little easter egg in the game, and I'll glad I was able to show it off in one of these videos. Raiden ended up being surprisingly formidable on the whole therefore, though I suppose you'd hope as much from the Thunder God himself.

That ends my little diversion into non-fighting games, for the time being. Next up, the Battle Arena Toshinden series.
