ON Semiconductor has both their NCS199 and NCS21x current sense amplifiers, measuring voltage across shunts at common-mode voltages from negative .3 volts up to 26 volts. These current shunt monitors can operate on a single 2.7 to 26 volt power supply and draws no more than 100 microamps of supply current. With a plus minus 1 percent accuracy for the NCS21x and plus minus 1.5 percent accuracy for the NCS199, they both provide dependable data. The high side current sensing allows for integration in high voltage systems, making these ideal for low power consumer and portable applications as well as higher power computing, networking, and telecom.
