This is 5 Rupees circulating commemorative coin released on completion of 150 years of First War of Independence in 2007. The coin was circulated only by Mumbai Mint in very limited numbers and isn't easy to find.
The First war of Independence of 1857 also known as the Great Rebellion, the Indian Mutiny, the Revolt of 1857, the Uprising of 1857, the Sepoy Rebellion, and the Sepoy Mutiny; began as a mutiny of sepoys of the British East India Company's army on 10 May 1857, in the town of Meerut.
The coin is made of Copper-nickel weighing 9 grams with 23 mm diameter circular.
On the obverse, Ashoka Lion Emblem with denomination below lettering भारत India सत्यमेव जयते.
The reverse of this coin shows Heroes of the War of Independence, Rani of Jhansi, General Tatya Tope and Bahadur Shah Zafar II with lettering प्रथम स्वतंत्रता संग्राम, The First War of Independence, १५० वर्ष, 150 Years and date mentioned as 1857 - 2007.
