박진, 방미차 출국 한미동맹 다변화•북핵공조 심화 모색
South Korea's Foreign Minister Park Jin departed for the U.S. on Wednesday morning for a five-day visit.
Park will first meet with the UN Secretary-General in New York, where he will address pending issues on the Korean Peninsula.
He is also scheduled to meet with his U.S. counterpart, Antony Blinken, on Friday in Washington D.C.
That meeting will mark the 70th anniversary of the South Korea-U.S. alliance.
Apart from commemorating the longstanding relations, Park and Blinken are also expected to discuss ways to strengthen the global comprehensive strategic alliance, and North Korea.
Park is also set to meet high-ranking NASA officials during his stay to discuss boosting the two countries' space alliance.
